Broadband is the PC hot topic at the moment, as prices vary
widely as does service and speed claims etc.
The first thing to understand is the way broadband works, without going into too
much detail if you currently use BT for your phone line here's how the system
works.
BT Wholesale provides your ADSL Line, all ISP's have to use the BT network to
get the broadband signal into your home. (assuming you don't have cable)
Who instructs BT Wholesale to provide this line, and in turn bills you for it,
is where your choice comes into it.
What Broadband Supplier is Best?
It depends on your circumstances but the biggest savings are available by
combining your phone line with a broadband connection, for most home customers
you can get broadband and evening and weekend calls for about the price of BT
option 2.
Aren't Some suppliers terrible?
Your hear lots of horror stories about various ISP's but the truth of the matter
is they all are pretty much the same... Most of the problems you will experience
if any will either be at the exchange (down to BT wholesale) or with your
computer (down to you).
Personally I would recommend a name you know, gimmicky offers are all very well
but normally there is a catch and you are entering a contract to supply for at
least 12 months.

computer not the connection.

A: Many things can cause this the usual suspects are missing filter from a sky
